When Torrance police arrested two suspects during a home-invasion robbery earlier last week, they discovered one of the men was wanted in Denver, Colorado for multiple crimes, including murder. The two men, ages 17 and 18, allegedly beat a 73-year-old woman in her Torrance home after breaking in.
17-year-old Dmarco Jaquise Blake is wanted in Colorado for the murder of Timothy Anderson, which is believed to have occurred during a home-invasion burglary on May 15th in Denver. Three others have already been arrested in connection with the murder, including a 15-year-old. All face charges as adults in Colorado.
The Torrance victim's neighbor called the police after noticing a strange vehicle and two men outside her home around 10:40 p.m. last Monday. When officers arrived, they heard the elderly woman screaming as the two robbers tried to run from the house. One was arrested, while Blake disappeared. Officers discovered him moments later hiding in the attic of the woman's garage.
Both men were arrested on suspicion of home-invasion robbery, burglary, elder abuse, and auto theft. The District Attorney's Office plans to begin extradition proceedings to send the men back to Colorado. Currently it is unclear why the men were in Torrance or why the victim was targeted.
