The dramatic saga of the Lunada Bay Boys continues, as the group's reputation of using threats and violence to keep outsiders from surfing Lunada Bay in Palos Verdes Estates is being used as evidence in a separate hate crime lawsuit. The hate crime accusations followed a class-action lawsuit filed against the Bay Boys last year.
A California man has been taken into custody after he allegedly caused a "crime spree" that left several people injured in Malibu and Pacific Palisades on Aug. 11. The man, age 44, was reportedly armed with a box cutter during an alleged assault. The injured victims in this case reportedly suffered wounds because of car accidents associated with the event.
A 21-year-old California man has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of raping a housekeeper. The man, who is the son of a former high-ranking official with the California Highway Patrol, allegedly raped the woman at knifepoint during a 2011 encounter in Squaw Valley. He was formally sentenced for burglary and robbery in addition to the assault.
