A USA Holiday tour bus crashed into the back of a truck trailer early Sunday morning in Desert Hot Springs, crumpling the front third of the bus. The bus was headed back to Los Angeles after taking the passengers to a casino in Thermal.

Palm Springs Police officers killed responding to family disturbance

Two Palm Springs Police officers died Saturday while responding to a family disturbance call. John Hernandez Felix, who opened fire through a closed door and fatally wounded Officers Leslie Zerebny and Jose "Gil" Vega, has been charged with two counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder. A third officer was wounded at the scene.
